South Africa 2019 (Summer)

While the kids stayed in Brissy, I met Robyn for a few days in Capetown and then a memorable 8 day trip driving the famous Garden Route. While in Capetown we visited the V&A Waterfront and took sunset shots from Lions Head lookout.  Joined by our friends Martin and Eun, we survived an arduous 9 hour hike up and down Table Mountain. Spectacular vistas.

The Garden Route is the perfect road trip.  We did: Chapmans Peak drive, Cape Point National Park, Simons Town, Bolders Beach penguins, Hermanus whale sighting, Klein River Cheese, Mossel Bay, Cape St Blaize walk (3hrs), Kynsna, Featherbed NP walk (3hrs), Garden of Eden, Plettenberg, Robberg Is hike (6hrs), Stormsriver, Oudtshoon, Ostrich farm, Meerkats at dawn, Barrydale, Paarl, Stellenbosh, and the Franschhoek Wine Tram.

We were uber-happy to stay with our good friends Adrian and Alice for a few nights in Paarl.  What a great part of the world they live in.  Vineyards everywhere with the amazing mountains for a backdrop.
