Montenegro 2018 (Summer)

Montenegro has to up there as one of our favourite destinations.  We stayed in a fantastic original stone and timber cottage owned by Jelena and her incredibly friendly family.  Martin (father) is an expert distiller of rakia - so he immediately became Robyn's best friend.  Even though Martin doesn't speak English, the two of them would wax lyrical about the honey rakia, the plum rakia, the cherry rakia... you get the picture.  Anyway, Martin also took us fishing and blueberry picking in the mountains.  Jelena's mum prepared all our meals and each one was a delicious banquet.  We really warmed to this family and their amazing lifestyle.  Highly recommend a stay with them if you are ever in the 'Black Mountains' (Montenegro).

On this leg of the trip we also explored the famous walled city of Kotor.  It's like mini Dubrovnik.  A unauthorised climb to some ruins on the mountain nearby provided an awesome vista over the entire Kotor Bay. We stayed few nights in Perast and Rijeka.
