Macedonia 2018 (Summer)

A quick dip into Macedonia on our way to Montenegro.  We stayed in a quaint and tradition mountain village called Janche in the Mavrovo National park. Robyn danced through the fields of flowers and I admired the remarkable stone-masonry.

A wonderful drive through the countryside and two nights in Skopje (capital).  Macedonia, or more correctly North Macedonia as they prefer to be called now, actually means 'tall' in ancient Greek.  Supposedly, the original tribes from here were taller than the Greeks.  I didn't notice it.  Some great markets in Skopje and everything was very cheap.  Treated ourselves to a fancy hotel, except Robyn embarrassed me (again) by licking the salt wall in the sauna!
