Our time in Latvia was spent in a wonderful cozy country cottage owned by Anna, a retired art teacher.  Her house was full of unique recycled sculptures and warm homemade lamps.  The kids (and adults) loved it here.  The cottage was in the Gauja National Park in central Latvia.  Our days were spent: saunaing and then rolling in the snow, and visiting regional castles, restaurants, and ancient oak trees.  We spent a day walking the old cobbled streets of Riga ,the Latvian capital.
